Lifesavers pet adoption - New Hampshire

Our Adoption Process

Our goal is to place pets in permanent, loving homes. We want to find you a special, compatible companion to join your family. With the information we gather during the adoption process we can minimize the risk of a failed adoption.

Our adoption process starts with filling out an adoption application. We will review your application and determine if your family might be a good match for the dog/puppy you are interested in.  We will call your vet to check that all of your current family pets are up-to-date on all required vaccines, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative and have been spayed or neutered. If you have not had a family pet prior to filling out our adoption application, we will call your personal references. Once your references have been completed, we will contact you for a phone interview.

The final step is a home check. This entire process is designed to match our dogs with the best adopter. We want you to have a lifetime buddy, and we want our dogs to be shuffled between homes for the last time.

The adoption fee is $400.00 for adults and $500.00 for puppies under one year, which includes spay/neutering, up-to-date age appropriate vaccinations, flea/tick & heartworm preventative and a health certificate. Our adoption fees help to defray the costs of caring for the animals, they do not cover all our expenses. If you would like to further help cover our costs we welcome all donations.

We foster our dogs in homes, not in shelters. This allows us to get to know the dog’s temperaments in order to match them to a home. This also allows us to get the dogs ready to live in their forever homes! All dogs coming from the south have been quarantined for two weeks and vetted before traveling to New England!

Please note: Our dogs are not adopted by first come first served. Our dogs are adopted to the home that we feel would be the best match.
