Our Adoption Process

Our Adoption Process

Our goal is to place pets in permanent, loving homes. We want to find you a special, compatible companion to join your family. With the information we gather during the adoption process we can minimize the risk of a failed adoption.

Our adoption process starts with filling out an adoption application. Once we have reviewed your application and determined your family might be a good match for the dog/puppy you are interested in, we will call you for a phone interview.

Then we will call your vet to check that all of your current family pets are up-to-date on all required vaccines, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative and have been spayed or neutered. If you have not had a family pet prior to filling out our adoption application, we will call your personal references.

The final step is a home visit. This entire process is designed to match our dogs with the best adopter. We want you to have a lifetime buddy, and we want our dogs to be shuffled between homes for the last time.

The adoption fee is $350.00 for adults and $450.00 for puppies under one year, which includes spay/neutering, up-to-date age appropriate vaccinations, flea/tick & heartworm preventative and a health certificate. Our adoption fees help to defray the costs of caring for the animals, they do not cover all our expenses. If you would like to further help cover our costs we welcome all donations.

We foster our dogs in homes, not in shelters. This allows us to get to know the dog’s temperaments in order to match them to a home. This also allows us to get the dogs ready to live in their forever homes! All dogs coming from the south have been quarantined for two weeks and vetted before traveling to New England!

Please note: Our dogs are not adopted by first come first severed. Our dogs are adopted to the home that we feel would be the best match.
